Congratulations to Brother Mitch Raines for being awarded the Sir Knight of the Month for the Dr. Thomas A. Dooley Assembly of 4th Degree Knights. Mitch was honored for taking the day off from work to attend an Honor Guard at the wake and funeral for Brother Knight James St. Louis of Villa Park who passed away suddenly.

This is on the heels of Brother Benote Wimp being awarded the Sir Knight of the Month for October for his willingness to jump in and chair the Tootsie Roll Drive and for bringing new candidates to the 4th Degree.

With the anniversary of our founding as a council coming up in a couple of weeks, I, too, want to echo our Worhty Advocate Scott Lascari’s comments above–what a year it has been. You should all be very proud of what you have accomplished in this first year of existence! Consider also that the vast majority of you had never even been involved with the Knights previously, this makes our accomplishments even more impressive. You have already far exceeded my wildest hopes for this council. Sure we have had our growing pains along the way, but using the guiding principles of fraternity, unity, and charity and our common Catholic faith, we continue to grow in our support for each other and our Catholic Church. I cannont express how proud I am of all of you–nor how much joy it is for me to continue to serve as your chaplain. Be assured of my prayers for all of you–and especially during this November I will pray for your departed family, friends, and relatives.

Area on the site for Fourth degree News!

  4. Benote Wimp says:

I was just checking out the site to see how it worked and this has exceeded my expectations. that you can throw out Ideas, suggestions and comments is great!
I would like to throw out an idea of a Brother Knight Prayful retreat locally or off site during the winter or spring of this year. This is David Brinker idea who made this suggestion to me at the last council meeting. This would be a great way to build our spiritual Knight community!

  5. Scott Lascari says:

I want to applaud our Council for the success it has worked hard to enjoy over the past year. Beginning with “Keep Christ in Christmas” magnet sales and continuing through a youth free throw competition, Knight masses, St. Joseph’s Table, Tootsie Roll sales, 40 Days for Life efforts, and even a poker night — it’s been a good year. And with our Dancing With the Stars Lessons, Keep Christ in Christmas luncheon, recruiting efforts, and other activities coming up, it promises to be a good second year as well. In fact, the reason I volunteered to be the Membership Director was to help make sure that all practical Catholic males in our area have an opportunity to become part of this great thing that we are building. And I sincerely hope that they all do so, and soon!

  6. Robert Mesch says:

Heard a blurb last week that 6 of the 12 Chief Justices on the Supreme Court are Catholic. How can Supreme leverage this to forward a more conservative set of issues?

  7. Jack Provenzale says:

    This is a great website.
